Anna Rubin’s music is propelled by her love of the speaking voice, the world of pollinators, robots and black holes. She has composed for a variety of musical genres including chamber, choral, wind and orchestral ensembles as well as electronic music for concert stage, video and dance. Recent commissions include works for the Piano on the Rocks International Festival, Sedona and for the German choral ensemble Kammerchor Westfalen. Her electroacoustic work has recently been heard at Electronic Music Midwest, the SEAMUS (Society for Electroacoustic Music US) Rhizome concerts, the VU Symposium and the NYC Electronic Music Festival. Her works are recorded on the Albany, Sony, Accordion XXI Century and SEAMUS labels with Chiaroscuro, a wind ensemble piece, recently out on Albany Records.
