Let It Be Said – February 11 & 25, 2023

For the first time ever, BCF is working with multiple Baltimore-area writers and actors who have extensive knowledge in their fields in order to create a “Spoken Word” performance. The purpose of this collaboration is to have the writer provide supplemental pieces to bolster thematic, musical performances, which then provides our audiences with a more engaging experience. Essentially, the “Spoken Word” is a crossover of artistic expression that can be found somewhere between concert and theater.

For the 2022-2023 concert season, BCF’s “Spoken Word” project is titled Let It Be Said, featuring local writer, Miesha Lowery.

“Let It Be Said is a mixed bag of ingredients, a sprinkle of mundane, a tablespoon of thoughtfulness, a dash of wisdom, a teaspoon of love, and a quarter of a cup of the daily grind. I created a realistic short story broken up into spoken words, and the Baltimore Composers Forum brought it to life from their inspiration. Let It Be Said is the epitome of fleeting thoughts, moments, and whispered feelings.”
