Call For Scores/Nov. 19, 2016 Concert featuring soprano, tenor and piano
BCF Members are invited to submit scores for soprano and/or tenor a capella or with piano accompaniment. NO solo piano works please. Members can submit one or more pieces, as long as the total length of the combined submissions does not exceed 8 minutes. Soprano Annie Gill, tenor Joseph Regan and pianist Timothy McReynolds are the featured performers.
Deadline: Please submit scores by Sept. 10, 2016.
This Call for Scores is open only to members of the Baltimore Composers Forum who are up to date in payment of their yearly dues and who live in the greater Baltimore and Washington area. Annual membership renewals are due by September 15 of every year. Please note that any interested composer may submit a membership application along with their music submission.

Biography for Annie Gill, Soprano
Soprano Annie Gill continues to gain recognition as an emerging artist. Past opera roles include the title roles in Suor Angelica and Massenet’s Manon, Nedda (I Pagliacci), Rosalinde (Die Fledermaus), Micaëla (Carmen), Mimì and Musetta (La Bohème), The Mother (Amahl and the Night Visitors), La Contessa (Le Nozze di Figaro), Donna Anna and Donna Elvira (Don Giovanni), Fiordiligi (Così fan tutte), and Pamina (The Magic Flute) with The In Series, Opera NOVA, and Opera in the Ozarks.
Ms. Gill has received awards from the National Federation of Music Clubs, Russell C. Wonderlic Voice Competition, and the Orpheus Vocal Competition.
In addition to her classical singing career, Ms. Gill is a voice over artist and acts in commercials and television, notably appearing as the “Opera Singer” in the Season 2 Finale of House of Cards.
Biography for Joseph Regan, tenor
Joseph Regan is a successful voice teacher and singer based in the Mid-Atlantic region who has performed all over the Eastern Seaboard. Joseph can be seen on the opera stage where he has performed the roles of Fenton from Verdi’s Falstaff, Tamino from Mozart’s Magic Flute, Jenik from Smetana’s Bartered Bride and many more. Mr. Regan is also an accomplished performer of musical theatre. He has performed Henrik in Sondheim’s A Little Night Music, Nicely-Nicely Johnson from Loesser’s Guys and Dolls, and has performed a number of cabaret and recital programs dedicated to the style. In addition to his work in opera and musical theatre, Mr. Regan is a well known for his work in the field of oratorio. He has sung Handel, Haydn, Mendelssohn, Mozart, and is particularly notable for his expertise singing Bach. He has performed the St. John Passion solos on multiple occasions and has performed more than a dozen of Bach’s Cantatas. In addition to his work as a soloist, Mr. Regan is also a highly sought after ensemble singer and sings regularly with the Washington National Cathedral, The Countertop Ensemble with whom he has completed several successful concert tours, and other well respected choral ensembles in the Washington/Baltimore area. Mr. Regan received his Bachelor and Master of Music degrees from the Peabody Institute of the Johns Hopkins University.
Biography for Tim McReynolds, piano
Enjoying a career that embraces art song, opera, chamber music, and cabaret, pianist R. Timothy McReynolds is also active as a teacher and vocal coach. He is a member of the Voice/Opera faculty of the University of Maryland, School of Music, and the former Music Director of Towson University’s Music for the Stage. He has participated as vocal coach/pianist for the Washington National Opera’s Opera Institute and the Aspen Music Festival. He was Instructor of Piano at American University in Washington, D.C. and Loyola University of Maryland, where he remains as pianist for the Vocal Masterclass Series.
He has toured internationally in concerts, cabarets, and masterclasses in Mexico, Germany, Italy, and Austria, as well as across the United States. He also performed in recital with acclaimed bass-baritone, the late William Warfield. He has been heard with, among others, Linda Mabbs, Isabel Leonard, Timothy Mix, Danielle Talamantes, and Laura Strickling. The Washington Post hails him as the, “perceptive accompanist”, the Baltimore Sun, an “excellent pianist”, while the website Classical Journal proclaims him as the “brilliant accompanist” in a recital with mezzo-soprano, Delores Ziegler. He continues his close association with the Washington (D.C.) Vocal Arts Society and their Discovery Recital Series. Recent concert venues include the Kennedy Center’s Terrace Theater and the Embassy of the Netherlands in Washington, D.C., the Maryland Arts Festival in Baltimore, a state tour of Maryland with the Annapolis (MD) Symphony, the Egyptian Embassy Concert Series in Vienna, Austria, and both the Stern Auditorium with the Baltimore Symphony Orchestra and Weill Recital Hall at Carnegie Hall in New York City. In the Spring of 2012 he played (and sang) the world premier of Dominick Argento’s Cabaret Songs with Linda Mabbs at the University of Maryland. He also recently returned from playing two recitals at International ClarinetFest in Assisi, Italy.
Dr. McReynolds received his B.M. from Indiana University, M.M. from the University of Michigan, and completed his D.M.A. at the University of Maryland. His teachers have included Edward Auer, Martin Katz, Jeffrey Gilliam, Robert McCoy and Rita Sloan.
He recently recorded a CD of new music on the Sono Luminus label with Washington, D.C.’s Inscape Chamber Orchestra, “Sprung Rhythm.” Other recent recordings include a CD of Schubert’s Die schöne Müllerin with tenor Bryce Westervelt, and another with the chamber music group, Greenbrook Ensemble. His recent concert schedule includes venues in New York, Massachusetts, Tennessee, Florida, Texas, Vermont, Pennsylvania, and Italy.
