Call for Scores

Call For Scores for a Saturday, November 18, 2017 program featuring the West Shore Trio

BCF Members are invited to submit scores for the piano trio (violin, cello, piano) West Shore Trio (or subset thereof). Maximum duration is 8 minutes. Submission deadline Monday, September 18th, 2017. West Shore Trio will announce their selections and program order by October 2. The concert is scheduled for Saturday, November 18, 2017. Membership dues should be in by September 15th: $60; students $30. You’ll receive a dues renewal email reminder before then. Submissions won’t be accepted unless dues have been paid.

This Call for Scores is open only to members of the Baltimore Composers Forum who are up to date in payment of their yearly dues and who live in the greater Baltimore and Washington D.C. region. Annual membership renewals are due by September 15 of every year. Our BCF membership form can be found here. Please note that any interested 
composer may submit a membership application along with their music submission. Members whose pieces are selected for performances at our concerts also make a concert-designated donation (usually about $60 each) to help with the costs of the concert.




Complete submissions need to meet the following requirements:
– maximum duration of 8 minutes
– submission must be in pdf format
– optional audio file may be submitted as well
– in an additional separate pdf, include program notes and 100 word biography

GENERAL GUIDELINES


All submitting composers must be active members of the Baltimore Composers Forum. 
Persons interested in submitting a proposal are encouraged to check their membership 
status well in advance of the submission deadline. This Call for Scores is open only to members of the Baltimore Composers Forum who are up to date in payment of their yearly dues and who live in the greater Baltimore and Washington area. Annual membership renewals are due by September 15 of every year. Please note that any interested 
composer may submit a membership application along with their music submission.


 Complete submissions include the following:


  • The full performance score and parts [PDF format]
  • On a separate piece of paper:
    •    Title of the work, composer’s name, year of completion and the duration

    •    A program note (100 word maximum)

    •    A brief biography of the composer (200 word maximum)

    •    A statement permitting use of copyrighted text (if applicable)

    •    An audio file of the work (optional)

Submissions that do not conform to the aforementioned guidelines will not be considered. The Baltimore Composers Forum will not provide travel monies for
 accepted composers.
