Call for Scores for the 2022-2023 Concert Season

Intersegmental 38: Seoul

​A collaboration with visual artist Mina Cheon (천민정) — Cheon, Min-Jung

Premiere: June 24, 2023 (virtual)

Deadline: April 24, 2023

Orchestration: open to all

Duration: minimum 4 minutes, maximum 6 minutes

Submissions:

—video (mp4) or audio files (mp3 or wav) and # of the inspirational image(s) from the catalogue
—title, orchestration, year of completion and duration
—bio and program note – combined 200 words maximum
—performers’ bios (100 words maximum per performer)
Optional
—Short audio or video excerpt (2-3 min.) about Kookmin University’s composition program and a joint photo of all participants in the university’s setting.

Call for Scores for the 2023-2024 Concert Season

Intersegmental 38: Baltimore

​A collaboration with visual artist Mina Cheon (천민정) — Cheon, Min-Jung

Premiere: November 18, 2023 (in person)

Deadline: July 15, 2023

Performers: piano (Bonghee Lee), soprano (Elise Jenkins), guitar (Young Jun Lim) and gayageum (Soyeun Jong).

Flag choice and orchestration option choice must be sent to Gavin Brown (gavbrown01@yahoo.com) on February 15 starting at 9pm EST. Entries submitted before then will be ignored. Important: send 3 choices of flag in order of preference (1st preference, 2nd, 3rd) and 3 choices of Orchestration option in order of preference also. Choices will be granted on a first-come, first-served basis.

Orchestration options:

Orchestration option A (4 slots available): trio – piano, voice & guitar
Orchestration option B (1 slot available): trio – piano, guitar & gayageum
Orchestration option C (3 slots available): duo – (piano & voice) OR (guitar & voice) OR (gayageum & voice)
Orchestration option D (2 slots available): solo – piano OR guitar
Orchestration option E (2 slots avilable): solo – gayageum (not connected to a particular flag)
Duration: between 5 and 7 minutes

Submissions:

—title, orchestration, year of completion and duration and # of the inspirational image from the catalogue

—bio and program note – combined 200 words maximum

—proof of the production fee payment ($72) via PayPal (donate button on our website); this payment will be applied to the first concert, for any subsequent concerts there will be an additional fee of $42 payable a month before the performance/s. (reminders will be sent)

The call will be closed, once all flags and orchestral choices are chosen.
